2. SMPS TRAINER MODULE

a. Input Power Module

* One single phase auto transformer provided to vary the input voltage and applied to the

transformer input, so that, the transformer output will vary from 0-24Volt

* 1 No. of 230/24V, 3Amp transformer provided for output isolation

* One No. of 0-30V AC Voltmeter provided to indicate output voltage

* One Illuminated rocker switch is provided to ON/OFF input power

* One fuse is provided to avoid over current.

* One pilot lamp provided to indicate power ON/OFF

* All outputs, auto transformer, voltmeter mounted on a screen printed PCB with nice cabinet

* Input 0-230V AC

* Output 0-24V AC/3Amps variable, Isolated

b. DC-DC Converter Module

* TL494 based PWM controller IC operated at 63 KHz. (approximately)

* IRF540/840 used as a power switch with suitable heat sink

* Provision for selection of single output or multi output by means of SPDT Switch

* Pulse is isolated by means of opto-coupler

* Output is filtered by LC Filter

* All input, outputs are terminated by banana sockets

* Necessary test points are provided on the board

* Various fault analysis switches provided to study SMPS controller

* One potentiometer is provided to vary the frequency of PWM (External mode of operation)

* One potentiometer is provided to vary the reference voltage of PWM controller IC.

* Input: 0-24V AC/ 3 Amps (Or) 0-24Volt DC /3Amps. (Externally given from other source)

* Output (Multiple) : +5V/3Amp, +12V/0.5Amp, -12V/0.5Amp

* Output (Single) : +5V/1Amps; selected by means of a SPDT Switches

* Protection for output short circuit condition.

c. Electronic Load

* One number of 20-0-20V DC Voltmeter to measure SMPS output voltages

* One Ammeter 0-3A provided to indicate load current

* One multiturn potentiometer is provided to vary the PWM width which in term vary the load

current

* Input Voltage: +5V & 12 Volt

* Maximum Load current: 2.5Amps for 5 volt & 0.5 Amps for 12 Volt.

4. PRINTER TRAINER MODULE

* All the components of a 132 Column Printer are mounted on an open platform for the students

to study the basic components of a Printer.

* Easy access for various signals & Test points of the Printer

* One Printer simulation Board to communicate with Printer, mounted on the same platform to

study the basic principle of the printer interface signals.

* One Printer interface board to illustrate the interfacing techniques of a centronics compatible

printer to the PC, mounted on the same platform.

* Software with detailed documentation provided for the Simulation & Interface boards.

* This module is designed to give detailed exposure to the student's on the individual

components of a Dot Matrix Printer, how it communicates with outside world and interface with a PC.

* Bus Adapter card to connect the Module to the PC Compatible computers with 1 meter Cable.

 5. REAL TIME CLOCK TRAINER MODULE AND TEMPERATURE MEASURING MODULE ADDING

HARDWARE & SOFTWARE TO PC/XT, AT & MSDOS.

a. Real Time Clock Trainer Module:

* Separate Board for RTC.

* On Board 4 Digit LED Display, to display date & time locally.

* Various Test and Fault Analysis points.

* Detailed manual for hardware and software.

* Simple program to display time & date.

* Designed to illustrate to add additional hardware & software to PC & MSDOS respectively.

Also it gives detailed exposure to the students about the RTC section of the PC computer.

* Bus Adapter card to connect the Module to the PC Compatible computers with 1 meter Cable.

b. Temperature Measuring Module:

* One ADC card with Room Temperature measurement provided to display Room

Temperature on the screen using a TSR Program.

  • AD 590 Temperature sensor is used for measuring the temperature.

The department provides high quality education in Computer Science & Engineering at the bachelor's level (Under Graduate). The course for C.S.E. was tailor made to fit the needs of the field of computer science with a great emphasis on the managerial facets of software development in order to create not just engineers who are part-time managers, but manager-engineers. Consequently, the course includes management subjects also. It favors web centric technologies and information management along with conventional areas and associated projects.

The Department of Computer Science & Engineering since its introduction in 2009 has taken several steps towards development and come a long way in establishing itself a department which commands both respect and importance. It is equipped with sophisticated laboratories and well qualified faculties who are not only technically skilled but also professionally competent. Faculty members have obtained recognition through publication at the national and international level .

Research Activity The research interests of the faculty members include, Fractals and Computer  Graphics, Evolutionary Neural Networks and Forecasting, Artificial Intelligence and information Retrieval,  Fuzzy Optimization, MIS Data modeling and database design.
